See the Jeep Grand Cherokee Like You’ve Never Seen It Before

If you’re a fan of Jeeps, you’ve probably already heard about the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.

And if you haven’t, you don’t know what you’re missing. This isn’t your usual Grand Cherokee. Jeep has revamped the 2018 model, combining everything that makes the Grand Cherokee outstanding with the power of some of the top vehicles on the market.
Jeep has produced this vehicle since 1993, making it the key midsize luxury SUV in their lineup. But the vehicle has changed over the years, and the Trackhawk is the next evolution of a vehicle that many love.

All the Traction of a Jeep with the Power of a Charger Hellcat

There are some amazingly powerful vehicles on the market today. For those who really want to take off, the Dodge Charger Hellcat and Challenger are two of the top favorites. The Charger Hellcat brings 707 horsepower to the table tanks to its twin 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engines. But these cars do have one drawback: traction.

Dodge tries to address this with the 2018 Challenger Hellcat Widebody. This model has an additional 1.5 inches of tire width, but it’s still not quite enough to really provide the traction you want.

The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, however, does. It takes the powerful drivetrain from these vehicles and adds it to the Quadra trac 4×4 system that Jeep drivers love. Now you’ve got all the power of the Hellcat’s engine with all the traction and all-wheel drive of the Grand Cherokee. The vehicle can now hit 60 within 3.5 seconds while still giving you plenty of control over it.

The Fastest on the Market

Jeep hasn’t had the opportunity to own the title of “fastest” anything on the market in a while, but the 2018 Grand Cherokee Trackhawk does claim the title of the fastest SUV on the market. It’s also the most powerful, bringing 645 pounds of torque with its 707 HP engine, and it can tow up to 7,200 pounds. It’s raised the bar in SUV performance, but it also brings with it all of the great luxury features that drivers have come to expect from the Grand Cherokee.

Innovative Changes

Besides the 6.2-liter Hellcat V8, the Trackhawk features an 8-speed automatic transition. The V8 connects a 2.3-liter supercharger that provides a boost of up to 11.6 kpi. The Trackhawk features an innovative induction system that actually pulls cold air in from where the Grand Cherokee has a fog lamp. The other fog lamp space now provides cold air for an oil cooler. Then there’s a new radiator that cools the supercharger, a new exhaust system designed to handle higher temperatures, and even a newly designed oil pan.

The vehicle’s Quadra trac system has been upgraded to offer a few new features. The overall transfer case has been shortened and now includes strong sprockets and a wider chain. You’ll find four pinions on the rear differential, doubling the standard two that the Trackhawk once featured. Everything is topped off by an upgraded brake and tire package.

When you add all of these qualities and features together, you get a Jeep Grand Cherokee that’s incredibly fast, exceptionally powerful, and handles like you’d expect a Jeep to handle. That’s in addition to the standard functionality the Grand Cherokee delivers on a regular basis. This year’s Jeep Grand Cherokee is sure to set a new standard for this beloved automaker.
